Bold Moves & Big Ideas: Rampriya Returns to the Hackathon Stage
I’m so excited to share a quick glimpse into Rampriya’s professional journey! We first crossed paths at a WomenNow event, and not long after, she showed up, curious and full of questions, at a session focused on encouraging women to take part in the Hackathon at Knowledge 2025. So, when she decided to go for it and joined a team, I’ll admit it, I was in awe of her determination and drive.
She shared that her experience at the Knowledge 2025 CreatorCon Hackathon is a standout moment in her hackathon journey. It was a space where she boldly explored new ideas, embraced challenges, and pushed creative boundaries. This event not only deepened her skills but also sparked new perspectives, and she’s excited to share that journey with us in this Q&A.
What drew her in? What did she build? What did she learn about herself in the process? I asked her all those questions and more, plus a few about her professional path and where she’s hoping to go next. Her answers are honest, inspiring, and a reminder that saying yes to something new can open all kinds of doors.
Hackathon Experience
What inspired you to participate in the ServiceNow Hackathon this year—and what made you finally say, “Why not now?”
I enjoy solving real-world use cases and exploring new scenarios through workflows.
This year, I wanted to encourage first-time participants who hadn’t had the chance to join before. We formed our team right at Knowledge 2025—introduced ourselves, connected, and decided to build together. That spontaneous team formation was one of the most exciting parts of the experience.
Our project TravelSafeNow, built by team TechNinjas, made the hackathon journey truly unforgettable.
Can you share a little about your project—what did your team build, and what problem were you hoping to solve?
Our project, TravelSafeNow, is a smart travel safety solution built on the ServiceNow platform. It’s designed for travel agencies to protect their customers' data from potential cyberattacks. The app proactively simulates security breaches to identify vulnerabilities and create incidents.
This allows security teams to respond quickly and strengthen defenses in real time. We were inspired by the Red Team vs. Blue Team cybersecurity concept to bring this idea to life.
What skills or tools on the ServiceNow platform did you get to use (or learn!) during the Hackathon?
We used ServiceNow RPA to simulate a Red Team attack by performing an SQL injection on a form, which triggered an incident via workflow.
Our team built a custom workspace to manage and resolve those incidents efficiently. Sandeep Singh Rajput, and Suresh Loganathan designed the platform architecture, while Velvizhi Sujatha led the custom workspace development. I focused on building the RPA workflow and the hacking simulation component. Jaspal Singh brought everything together into a compelling story and delivered a fantastic presentation.
How did your team collaborate under time pressure, and what did you learn about teamwork in a high-energy setting like this?
More than the time pressure, the real challenge was the exhaustion from long travels and different time zones. But despite that, we stayed energized by constantly encouraging and motivating each other. Everyone brought positive energy to the table, which kept the momentum going. We learned that in a high-energy setting like this, mutual support is the key to pushing through. That spirit of teamwork made the experience both productive and unforgettable.
What advice would you give to another woman who’s thinking about signing up for the Hackathon next year but isn’t sure she’s “ready”?
CreatorCon Hackathon is a team event, and we always welcome new faces. If you're thinking about signing up, just do it and experience the journey.
To me, participating in a hackathon is about learning, not winning or losing. We already face and fix countless challenges in our daily work—that's more than enough to qualify. You’re more ready than you think, just take the leap and join in!

Professional Background
Tell us a little about your journey—what brought you into the world of tech and ServiceNow?
I pursued a degree in Computer Science Engineering but took a break from my career for about eight years. On my comeback, I started as a Database Administrator and soon transitioned into a ServiceNow Admin role. From there, I learned the platform little by little, strengthening my skills each day.
I’ve always had strong fundamentals, and my commitment to continuous self-learning has helped me grow steadily.
What does your current role involve, and how does ServiceNow fit into your day-to-day work?
I truly enjoy my current role more than any I’ve had before—every moment brings a new challenge. I work across multiple areas like ITSM, ITOM, SPM, HR, and ITAM, which keeps things dynamic and exciting. As a senior developer, I collaborate closely with customers to understand their needs and build tailored solutions. I also brainstorm with my team, seek support from the community, and continuously learn new things every day. ServiceNow is at the heart of my day-to-day work—it's where problem-solving meets constant innovation.
Have there been any standout moments or mentors who helped shape your path in tech?
Yes, absolutely. One standout moment was when I returned to tech after a long break, it was both exciting and intimidating. During that time, a few mentors and peers encouraged me to trust my instincts and keep learning, no matter how small the steps. Their guidance gave me the confidence to dive deeper into ServiceNow and grow into my current role. I’m especially grateful to the ServiceNow community, which has been a constant source of support and inspiration.
What do you enjoy most about working in this ecosystem?
The ServiceNow Community portal is one of my favorite parts of the ecosystem. It’s a go-to place to share knowledge, ask questions, and find solutions to real-world technical issues. Whether you're seeking help or contributing, it’s a powerful space for continuous learning and collaboration. ServiceNow University is another favorite, it’s where I continue to build my knowledge and grow my confidence.

Are there areas of the ServiceNow platform you’re excited to dive deeper into next?
I’m excited to dive deeper into building Agentic AI workflows to solve complex, cross-departmental use cases. The idea of creating autonomous, intelligent flows that collaborate across domains really inspires me. It’s a space where innovation meets impact, and I’m eager to explore its full potential within the ServiceNow platform.
If you could give your past self one piece of advice at the start of your tech journey, what would it be?
Just put yourself into learning. You’ll be surprised how much you enjoy it.
